Why Is The Heavyweight Division In The Ufc Limited To A Weight Of 265 Pounds?
Posted by: mmafan in UFC, tags: Division, Heavyweight, Limited, Pounds, WeightI think if the UFC expands that weight limit, they could open the doors for some more fighters. Also, we would get the chance to see more punching power and bigger knockouts.

Remember a fighter named Tank Abbott from Huntington Beach. After 30 seconds of fighting, Tank couldn’t breath, was gasping for air and while he’s trying to get a second wind he gets the crap beat out of him. He has such a big belly on him I think the only way he could see his privates is in a mirror.
Probably for the same reasons they don’t have a 145 lb weight class and Jens Pulver went to the WEC where they do have a 145 lb class. Watch his fight on June 1 against the WEC Champ. You will be amazed of what the WEC has to offer. The WEC is on a channel called Versus or vs.

The reason is sactioning. In order to get santioned as a sport in most states each class has to have a max weight limit. That is why some boxings promotions have a super heavy weight divison.
