Who Else Thinks That The Ufc Style Should Be An Olympic Sport?

I know the ufc is mma, and that there is wrestling, boxing, taekwondo, and judo in the olypmics, but who agrees that there should be something like the ufc in the oylmpics. Just plain judged fighting.

I love MMA but there is no way it could be an olympic sport. For one reason it takes more than a day to recover from a MMA fight. All you would need it to get a cut on your first fight and you’d be out for the rest of the olympics. You can’t compete with a unhealed wound as it will just keep getting reopened with the first punch. The only way to combat that is to make the fighters were helmets like boxing…and where’s the fun in that?

Dana White, UFC President, has expressed a great deal of interest in placing MMA in the olympics.
While a respectable and hugely popular sport in many degrees, far too many people still lack knowledge of the sport and will see it as just a brutal cockfight. This type of mentality will stray many viewers from watching MMA. The olympics are geared toward families in my opinion and many casual sports fans. Such combat sports are fun too watch on PPV but just too bloody and brutal for olympic competition (even in olympic boxing, fighters wear head guards) and a huge whooping from one countryman to another might invoke ill-feelings and hostility from the loser’s nation. Some might even see MMA in the olympics as just another reflective outlet of the violence that occurs between two nations in war and might hold resentment and bitterness.

This UFC stuff is just a circus act and will never be taken seriously by the Olympics. It takes so much more skill and discipline to fight with more restrictions and rules like the current fighting events. MMA is a joke and only a small step up from WWE.

me personally i would love to watch it
but realisticly its not ever gonna happen cause its just seen as plain brutal violence
in the eyes of who it would concern in making it be in the olympics they just think its a pointless ‘sport’

UFC would be extremely popular but I’m afraid I’m unable to watch it because it’s too cruel.

  8. Nykus says:

It takes way more to be a good MMA fighter than a good TKD practitioner.
MMA fighters are far better athletes. The Olympics are for athletes. I’m all for it!
