Many websites trace your web address. At most they would alert your internet provider that you are offensive and with repeated such alerts they may decide to limit your access or bandwidth.
If you are scared, then behave.
First thing, it was wrong to say that to the person. It’s not their rule, they just work for the company.
That being said, the only way they could trace your IP address back to you is to get a court order to get your ISP to give them your name and address. They would have to file criminal charges with the Police, and swearing at someone is not a crime. It’s your First Amendment right to free speech, however crude it was. They were just trying to scare you.
What tater said. Also…you need to stop being stupid.
f**ck them, they can’t do anything. They are just insulted and trying to scare you. Tell them to trace all they want.
Nothing. For example. You have visited one site and they have trace your IP. They know that you are behind x.x.x.x IP address.
They will go to trace IP address site’s like:
http://www.ipaddresslocation.org/ip-address-locator.php
http://www.find-ip-address.org/ip-address-locator.php
So they know something about you but nothing personal (not your name, physical address, phone number etc…).
If they want to specific information;s about you they will need to contact your ISP and ask for help.
Not any ISP will give anything to anybody without subpoena.
