i highly respect goju-ryu its one of the most powerful styles of karate i have ever seen its conservation of tradition is impecible however i am more of a kyokushin karate man. but i love to watch goju-ryu in action its just as practical as kyokushin
I remembered i first learned about Higoana sensei while watching History Channel’s human weapon. Higoana sensei was feaured during the episode about Karate. I think he was almost 70 years old when they interviewed him , he still teaches Karate & continued live in an active lifestyle and strong human being.
Goju Ryu is from old time, waste energy not very fluid like kung fu or at least like wado
I trained in Tae kwon do for several years and recieved my red belt (second highest, before black belt)
But I ended up quitting to focus more on my Baseball career that was starting to take off…
I definately feel I made the wrong choice these days lol!
…hind sight is always 20/20
:S
I did Goju Ryu for seven years but I now train in Kyokushin.
What have you trained in?
My best mates dad teaches Gojo Ryu here in Dandenong…
Shihan Lou Spizzirri
do you study Goju Ryu or any other form of Karate?
I was thinking of taking up Martial Arts again and I reallllly want to study under him!!
It is called a makiwara board. You can get them to mount on your wall, or you can have the post.
But what I do is just simply strike trees.
makiwara
Goju -Ryu Karate-do
Are you really serious?
It’s makiwara, punching post.
what is that thing he is punching at 6:20
i reading something that explained how to build one of those. anybody know what it is called?
he started to train becouse he was weak, now he is VERY skilled
Looks like shito-ryu, shotokan is more fun to practice .
HEY! lets meet up! MSG me on MSN. ID is in my profile. I
I have to say that I find humiliy and the mastering of aggression to be the hardest thing can achieve in life, if at all.
After watchign this. .myself looking into Okinawan Kara-te do. .I have to say it looks quite intimidating. I was also looking into Aikido. . however. . nothign that is worth having is easy to come by.
Respect.
Good karate.
God have mercy on whoever grapples with that guy lol. this vid makes me want to practice harder in karate.
Karate originated in Okinawa when the Chinese came and introduced their martial arts (Kung Fu)so… Yeh… Iron fist.
did he said that he met a chinese sifu {sr if i wrote it wrong}and HE gave him explainetions and herbs…..about iron fist…..hmmmmm
is it really that big of a deal?
is it really that big of a deal?
Too bad you are so upset:) The foremost thing in Oriental Martial Arts, esp. Chinese, is LiYi(礼仪) or Ri, which happens to be “Manners”. Its the first thing you learn in a dojo or school, LiYi also comes with humility. What ever you claim to be learning, from your Sifu you have not learnt humility or manners. Another shallow swaggering internet tough guy I guess:)
I get upset when idiots like you claim to know something, talk out of their ass and then I have to straighten them out. Don’t talk on things you know nothing about. Now scram, bitch
I’ve seen some of your other posts, your ignorance on the topic is great, there is no way you’ve been doing anything for 30 years and you know nothing of IP either.
HUH? Nay, I know who Pecherin72 is, but alas he ain’t me, Smartass.
