I love this guy and all, but like most said the weight cuts takes a big step back for big guys like him. He is normally as big as a lightweight and 6″2 fighting guys who r normally or near 170. It effects his bonus pay like the Yoshida fight.Thiago is 1 of my favorite fighters but also has the wieght cut problem too. But being that he is 5′9 and jus a reall heavy guy it makes since to come to 170. As far as his skill he does need to fight bigger names in the sport. Yoshida was da first!

wow, once again it has nothing to do with yoshida at all. Whats yoshida gonna do turn down the fight and have his preparations performed in vain? if i have been training for months to fight u at 170 then you tell me your 5lbs overweight a week before the fight i will be pissed at your poor training skills and complete disrespect for weight class limits which is a rule of the ufc BELIEVE IT OR NOT but i would still fight the scheduled fight and not let down the fans.

it has nothing to do with yoshida.. it IS a lack of respect for mma/ufc in general.say it with me through the computer FIVE POUNDS then go try to lose 5lbs and see how long it takes you then think of how much of an advantage he has over another fighter even tho yoshida woulda lost anyways

i questioned his respect for mma/ufc not his sportsmanship and my comment about the no rules fighting is a joke (dont be so serious lmao) i also saw how he apologized after his fight with yoshida to the fans and dana white. My main point is that you know as an athelete what you can and cant do. you get to know your body very well and i know he knew he wasnt going to make weight well before the fight.. yet no precautions were taken until it was to late to replace him with someone else.

Its not a lack of respect…fighters have the chance to not fight if the other guy dosent make weight but none of them would ever do that because they would lose the money from the purse and the chance at one of the 3 fight bonuses.
