How to make Halloween sumo wrestler costume for 8 year old?

My son wants to be a sumo wrestler and I want to make a costume for him. The store bought ones seem cheesy or if they’re nice–too expensive. I have ideas for stuffing, but i need ideas for the body part and hair.

Use black temporary hair dye and slick it down with some grease. Use skin colored fabric and make extra large legs and arms and body. Stuff with cotton or newspaper.
