Is Kazushi Sakuraba the most underrated fighter in MMA history?

Kazushi Sakuraba beat 5 UFC champions. Despite being a natural middleweight, he has fought light heavy and heavyweight fighters and beat the sh!t out of them! Three of the 5 UFc champions he beat were 20 plus pounds bigger than him, like Quinton Rampage Jackson, Kevin Randelman, and Ken Shamrock, all in their primes. Plus he beat Vitor Belfort who was a former UFC heavyweight champion after beating Randy Couture and he also beat the hell out of Royce Gracie (undisputed UFC champion) in his prime! WTF! this guy beat every Gracie he fought, like Ryan, Royler, and Renzo! he beat Newton, Silveira (260 pounder blackbelt jujiutsu fighter), and Guy Mezger! This guy has a more impressive record than say Georges St. Pierre or Anderson Silva combined, yet nobody knows him or even give him the respect and appreciation. Imagine Anderson Silva beating Rampage, Machida, Evans, and going up to fight Noguiera or Mir. Or imagine Georges St. Pierre going up 1 and 2 weight divisions to fight Anderson Silva, Dan Henderson, and challenging Lyoto Machida and Quinton Rampage Jackson as well.

He is not Brazilian or American, but he has beaten the heck out of any of them when they face him in the ring (no disrespect). He is Japanese, which may have contributed to his unpopularity in a sport dominated by Americans and Brazilians. His losses were all against 205 pounders, which is not fair, because he is 185. But at 185, nobody can beat him, and even when he was undersize he won convincingly! He is the Greatest Middleweight MMA fighter ever! He needs to get some damn respect! if you are a real MMA fan you know what Im talking about!

by MMA rules, a ref can stop the fight even if the person didnt tap, that is the same rule in Affliction, Pride, UFC, Pancrase, or pretty much anywhere. Sakuraba outskilled the Gracies in submission, he was simply better! Sakuraba’s loss were against lightheavy weights and heavyweights. Come on, what if he fought his entire life fighting 185 pounders? He will have a better record by far than GSP or Anderson Silva combined. Did GSP and Anderson Silva neat 5 UFC champions? did they go up two weight divisions? Sakuraba is the man! I dont think he is the greatest but you bet he is right behind Fedor as the greatest MMA fighter to ever lived the planet!
Mike, Royce never beat sakuraba. In fact, when Royce won a unanimous decision in K1 in Los Angeles, the MMA world were shock. Sherdog, MMA Weekly, and pretty much the entire MMA world scored the bout 2-1. Plus Gracie tested positive for steroids afterwards. But unlike UFC, K1 never overturns a decision because of steroids but instead fined Gracie and suspended him for a year. Plus the American judges cheated because they know that making Royce seem the winner would boost American interest more since Gracie is more know. Also, Sakuraba never tapped against Royce, it was Royce who chicked out and surrendered because he was getting his ass kicked in pride. Please know your facts right.

Why can’t more ppl in the ufc be unique?

I’m gettin bored of muay thai, bjj boxing and wrestling. Be like Machida and put some Karate, Jujitsu, Ninjutsu, TKD, JKD, Capoeira, Taido, Wing chun, kung fu etc!
UFC is getting more and more repetative/monotonous…. there should be more variety it’s getin boring.
