sapp is a good comparison for lesnar, but i have to give lesnar the nod for explosivenes. and as you pointed out, wrestling skill. but this is a good question, i think couture could handle sapp better than he did lesnar. but who knows for sure. nice question though.

Bob Sapp would have to cut to much weight. Taking that into consideration along with the fact that he is notorious for bad conditioning i would say no.
Mir would have to weather the early storm and then he would be able to have his way with the slower less skilled Sapp.

no Sapp sucks. he doesn’t even train anymore, he wont leave japan he’s like a national icon over there. He would get destroyed in the UFC. He was just destroyed by Bobby Lashley.
Sapp is big and slow. And has no gas tank.
Lesnar is HUGE, fast, amazing wrestling, and strength. and improving striking, and submissions.

The HW division is the only division where you can outweigh your opponet by 60lbs. So who knows, Sapp could of taken Mir down like Brock did and just pounded him out. Sapp also has better stand up than Brock as he was a good K1 fighter, so he could of beaten Mir standing up.
Its kinda far fetched, but Sapp would have a “punchers chance”

Well, Sapp may have been able to beat Mir, however he, as a former K-1 guy, never had to fight on the ground, and in the UFC that’s a HUGE disadvantage. Lesnar was a rather good wrestler in college and, thus, is comfortable on the ground. Also, Sapp weighs about 80 pounds more than Mir, so either he’d have to lose weight or Mir would have to gain weight for the fight.
