Boxing vs MMA, who would win in a street fight?

In a street fight who would win between a boxer and a MMA fighter? Example; Mike Tyson (in his prime) vs Chuck Ledell (in his prime) who do you think would win and why?

mma-more techniques. Liddell would probaly not be able to box with tyson so he would take him down and end up with a rear naked choke. Might as well bite his ear while he’s got the chance also!

  2. jrod1229 says:

liddell would because he has more tools that he can use, one on one fight liddell v.s tyson in the street liddell for sure he could take him down ground and pound him, kick him, submit him, knee him, elbow him, boxing is a great sport and a must have tool for an mma fighter but in a street fight just having punches isn’t enough.

MMA hands down. He would win in 9 out of 10 fights. The MMA fighter would just take him down. Game over.

    And Chuck would win.

This is a sort of no-brainer. While both are sports, you have to look seriously at the differences. Boxers do not grapple. Boxers do not use elbow, knees, forearms, or kicks. Their training has not prepared them for a brawl.

Anoteher way of looking at this would be, who would win in a boxing ring? That is the domain of the boxer. His techniques, training, and preparation have all been directed to the boxing ring. The MMA fighter would face a severe disadvantage as he would not be allowed to use anything but his gloved hands.

MMA. More ways to finsih a fight.

Chuck Liddell is not even a heavyweight, and not one of the best strikers in his division.

  6. Jeremy says:

Boxing you have one skill (Hands)

MMA you have multiple skills (Take Downs, Kicks, Hands, Submissions, etc)

    enough said

  7. Jes says:

    MMA Ledell

  8. David G says:

Liddell even if the entered a boxing ring he is one of the strongest strikers in the UFC

  9. windowpain says:

first of all liddell has a vacant ground game so being the stand up fighter that he is he would absolutely have to rely on alot of leg kicks. if he stood in front of tyson with that wide open stance tyson would spin liddell’s head around like a top. i woulda picked a more complete fighter than liddell to represent mma. yes liddell hits hard but not even close to tyson’s power. here’s a better one. tyson vs fedor?

    Boxer

Street fights are dirty and usually arise quickly and violently. The boxer is better at punching more powerfully and quickly. The MMA fighter needs space to use kicks or takedowns.

If it was an organized street fight, the MMA fighter would win no doubt.

  11. Alexander Gray says:

MMA due to the fact that most mma fighters are trained in grappling.

i would have to say chuck liddell because in his prime he hit like mike tyson . plus mma has much more than just boxing, wrestling, kickboxing, bjj, takedowns. etc. unless mike was hungry and got him in the kung fu ala ear bite hold.
